History
In 2009 Nuova Defim joined the Feralpi Group, one of the Europe’s largest and most qualified iron and steel manufacturers. Established in 1974, the company specialises in the production of superior quality electrowelded mesh for industrial use and fencing for industrial and private use.
The main production plant, formerly near Lecco, is now located in Alzate Brianza near Como, and covers a surface area of 25,000 m2.
The company originally made various types of woven mesh for the industrial metal wire and basket market in Italy, but gradually diversified its products to meet changing market requirements. Since 2003 Nuova Defim has developed immensely in terms of exports to EU countries (France, Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark) and non-EU countries, particularly in the Middle East and the United States. In 2004, it supplied high-tech security fencing along the border between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
