Sprinkler and Hydrant Installation Design Software

CPI win® SPIDI is a windows-based computer software which allows users to evaluate or check sprinkler and hydrant systems of any geometry, using specific regulations. Its easy to use interface ensures a short learning curve and rapid estimate turnaround.
CPI win® SPIDI allows the user to follow (even in the same project) the European standard and the NFPA 13 standards (considering also all study cases for the installation of ESFR and CMSA sprinkler, in addition to all types of sprinklers contemplated in the respective standards).
The SPIDI program can import a sprinkler piping system from a dwg/.dxf file but it has also a stand-alone CAD with tools to quickly network with a few clicks. It can take a whole system plan directly from drawing made in dwg or dxf file with any CAD drawing file (like AutoCAD or similar). Therefore it is possible to import a plan very quickly. Then the plan can be modify, implemented and properties can be associated to objects (materials, classifications, etc.) without any limitation.

Several important utilities are also available to the user:

3D piping drawing and management:
Piping system management on multiple;
Simultaneous management of various independent piping system within the same project with separate calculation;
Main CAD functions (which can be used in a similar way to AutoCAD);
all types of objects commonly used in a water system, perfectly scalable: hydrants, sprinklers, valves, installation supplies, joints, hangers.

The program has powerful tools for quick input of entire network parts:

Sprinkler and Hydrant Wizards allow sprinkler and Hydrants insertion, permitting the user to create network blocks, and also has the capability to insert thousand of sprinklers in a few seconds by a simple mouse click (branches, trees, grids, vertical grids and layouts for automatic filling of whole areas). The software permits also the automatic insertion of candles, riser and vertical grids for rack systems.

The Hydrant Wizard permits to create assembled column of hydrants: it creates automatically the column according to the measures and by characteristic set

Namirial CPI win® SPIDI also allows to:

Define the material for each pipe section or series of selected pipes, due to a large, user-managed file: the relative roughness coefficient (for used or new pipes) and also the relative diameters available on the market will be taken into account;
Associate labels with sections and objects, creating filters that allow a property to be changed in all entities that are part of the filter;
Graphically differentiate the pipe sections using different kinds of lines;
Measure all distances;
Force the lenghts detected in the design;
Renumber nodes and sections in logical sequence;
Set the diameters of any of all sections to be executed after verification;
Automatic insert joints (if pipes are too long) and supporters;
Automatic calculate all special parts(elbows, valves, Tees, etc.) inserted in the design allowing to force the type and number as desired;
Set terminals flow rate and height, different from those inserted by default and in accordance with regulations;
Monitor Hydrants and sprinklers areas of influence, in order to optimize their position and number;
Change same types of objects common properties with just one operation;
Create GRIDDED SYTEMS with any number of RINGS, also vertical ones;
Obtain advices about the most and the least favorable Hydrants and Sprinklers;
Obtain the same drawing performed directly in DWG or DXF with all technical information needed for planning requirements;
Print system supply/demand graph on screen and printer;
Directly change any pipe section or object property and coordinate. Object positions can be changed simply by dragging them.

CPI win® SPIDI allows automatic or manual hangers positioning (according to the standard’s instructions) indicating each hanger type. It also allows to determine the count of all parts included (also in rtf or excel file), according to the mounting system set.

The joints calculation and insertion is similarly managed. The calculation is performed by setting the actual flow rate to the nodes in function of pressures and effective K imposed at the terminals. The program suggests less favorable terminals and allows to turn on or off any terminal (sprinkler or hydrant) for better optimization of the calculation areas. The calculation leads to sizing and/or verifying the entire network, meshed or not, also of vertical gridded. All special parts and relative concentrated losses are automatically identified and calculated by the program according to the design, although the value can always be forced regardless the actual chart values.

At the end of the software allows you to create a calculation report, a very precise drawing in dwg with all the necessary information (dimensions, ND, material, code), and also some useful sections of the draw.
